Terms & Conditions

Thank you for choosing to stay with us at Black Barn CL, we hope you enjoy your stay. Please find below the terms and conditions applicable to our site. We abbreviate Certificated Location to ‘CL’. We use the word ‘outfit’ as a generic term to describe a motorhome or a caravan towed by a car.

Our operating certificate is issued by the Caravan and Motorhome Club under Paragraph 5 of the First Schedule of The Caravan Sites and Control of Development Act, 1960.

Our CL operates by the following Caravan and Motorhome Club rules:

  • Only members of the Caravan and Motorhome Club on producing their membership cards may be accommodated on the CL, for the purposes of recreation.

  • Not more than 5 caravans, motor caravans or trailer tents may be stationed on the CL at any time.

  • No caravan or motor caravan shall be allowed to stay for more than 28 consecutive days.

  • No tent camping to be allowed on-site (only a small single-berth pup tent ancillary to the main outfit can be accepted).

You are required to give us your Caravan and Motorhome Club membership number when booking and we will check your current membership status with the Club before confirming your booking.  If you cease to be a member of the Club, you will not be allowed to stay here and any payment you have made will be forfeited unless we have enough time to re-let the pitch that you have booked.

Payments, Fees & Deposits

Our pitch fee is £22 per outfit per night, including electric hook-up.

  • Fees for pitches cancelled with less than 7 days’ notice are not refundable or transferable.

  • If you leave early, your pitch fee is not refundable or transferable (in practice, our experience is the opposite – many people ask to extend their stay here longer than their original booking).

Refunds & Cancellations

  • If YOU are unable to travel here or need to leave early (for whatever reason including being required to self-isolate), there is no right to a refund or postponement, and that becomes a matter for your travel insurance.

  • If you need to cancel your booking please notify us as soon as possible so that we may re-offer the vacancy.

  • Please note that we are a grass site on Clay soil. The ground firmness is very dependant on good weather. If you are booking in Spring or September please be prepared for short notice site closure as a result of bad weather. Sadly we do not have any means to pull vehicles off site. Please insure you have appropriate break down assistance cover.

Bookings cancelled due to soft ground will be refunded or rearranged.

  • Fees for pitches cancelled with less than 7 days’ notice are not refundable.

Arrival & Departure

Arrive after 12 noon and vacate your pitch by 11.30am on your day of departure. This is so that we have no more than 5 vans on-site at any one time.

Dogs and other animals

We allow a maximum of 3 dogs per outfit. You are required to keep your animal(s) under close control at all times and clean up after them.  Animals are not to be left unattended.

Guests accepting day-visitors

We are happy for you to have visitors to the site but please check with us first and please be respectful of our other guests, if our event space is not being used we encourage our guests to socialise and enjoy the space away for the field. Visitors may park their cars in the car parking area.

Cars

CLs are intended for recreational purposes and our expectation is that guests bring one car as the towing vehicle.  Large motorhomes occasionally bring a car as a ‘runaround’ vehicle.  If you wish to bring more than one car, please arrange this with us in advance.

Electric Supply

We have 16A hookups and charge a flat-rate pitch fee inclusive of ‘reasonable use’ of electricity inside caravans or motorhomes.  We do not permit charging of electric cars or using electricity to heat awnings or use equipment outside the caravan or motorhome as we believe this is not ‘reasonable use’.  Likewise, we only permit one electrical connection per outfit and do not allow electrical ‘splitters’.

For economy and fire safety, switch heaters off unless you are on site.

Wi-Fi

We do not provide Wifi on Site but do have reasonable 4G on site.

Behaviour

The site is to be quiet after 10.30pm.  It is not suitable for parties or events.

No flying kites, drones, model aircraft etc.

No noisy fireworks, aerial fireworks or flying lanterns.

In line with Caravan and Motorhome Club rules, we reserve the right to refuse acceptance or to terminate the visit of any person whose conduct, or that of their animals, is detrimental to us or to our other visitors.

Special Needs or Disabilities

We will do our best to accommodate special needs or disabilities. Please explain your needs at time of booking in case we need to make special arrangements.

Loss & Damage

We will not be held responsible for any loss or damage, however caused, to your property or vehicles or any injury to you or your visitors whilst staying on our CL.

We sometimes take photographs of the CL for our Facebook page or website. Please let us know if you would prefer that we don’t include you.
